The Angelica Girls’ Choir gave a successful and full-house concert on the occasion of the Hungarian Culture Day at the László Hudec designed Moore Memorial Church.
Barna Burger’s photo exhibition entitled „Hungary on foot – a photographer’s diary” was a great success at the Consulate General of Hungary in Shanghai. The Consulate was fully filled with guests: many of them were members of the Association of Photographers in Shanghai.
On 6-7th December, the 10th World Congress of Confucius Institutes took place in Shanghai. More than 2,300 directors of Confucius Institutes, presidents of the host universities and foreign diplomats from 134 countries and regions throughout the world were represented at the opening ceremony. The Consulate General of Hungary was represented by Mr. Levente Horváth, Consul General and Mrs. Lívia Szentmártoni, Consul for Culture and Education.
On 5th December, Saturday morning, the exhibition entitled "Hungarians Exploring the Orient - Hungarian Explorers from Africa to Asia" was opened at the Consulate General of Hungary in Shanghai.
The Consulate General of Hungary in Shanghai and the Hudec Cultural Foundation, together with the co-operation of Shanghai Urban Planning and Design Research Institute (SUPDRI) organized a two day long conference entitled „ART DECO Budapest-Shanghai - Art Deco of Hungary with its Shanghai Based Master: László Hudec” on 4th – 5th November, in Shanghai. Apropos of the conference was that a one week long forum of the 13th Art Deco World Congress (1st – 7th November) was held at the same time as the ART DECO Budapest – Shanghai Conference in Shanghai.
From 31st October to 1st November, China Education Expo took place in Shanghai. In order to popularize Hungarian higher education, the representatives of the University of Szeged (SZTE) and Central European University (CEU) also joined to the educational booth of the Consulate General of Hungary in Shanghai.
From 20th September, 2015 in 14 metro lines of Shanghai city passangers can read Hungarian poems every day. Each day averagely 16 million people travel through by trains in these stations.
At the beginning of September, the delegation of the National Media and Info-communications Authority (NMHH) and the Hungarian Art Academy (MMA) took an official visit to Shanghai to conduct official negotiations with the representatives of animation industry of Shanghai and Hangzhou in order to introduce the so-called “Mecenatúra” program of the Media Authority, and also, to indicate the film shooting possibilities in Hungary with the help of the aids granted by the Hungarian State.
On 8th September, the „Hungarian Film Day” was officially opened with well-known Hungarian cartoons in Shanghai. The event was organized by the General Consulate with the request and support of the National Media and Info communications Authority (NMHH) and to the Hungarian Art Academy (MMA), and also, along with the co-operation of Shanghai Foreign Affairs Office, Xuhui District and the Long Museum.
